The idea is for game days or nights, etc. that may be in locations where supplies (pens, paper, cards, etc.) might not be practical. For example, sitting around a campfire (hence the name). In the COVID era, it's also a way to play games with your group via The Ezumee Video Chat system or other video conferencing tools.
Although the game uses a device to play, the game is still designed to promote personal interaction. Therefore, even though we could display the questions to you, we force the moderator of a round to ask the question out loud, and to read the answers out loud before players can cast their vote. This is to promote interaction, and hopefully lots of fun and laughter.
We won't make you keep score by hand, though. That's not the fun part of game playing, so we'll take care of that for you!
Current Ezumee Campfire Games Available:
Cah Cah - This is based on the popular adult-themed card game whose initials are "C.A.H.". Sometimes while playing it, you feel like caca. The makers of the original game have released it under the Creative Commons license, as long as we don't actually mention their name.
Ezumee Jisho - This is a game of bluffing. You are presented with a word you likely do not know. Your job is to write a plausible (but WRONG) definition of the word. Players vote on the word they think is the correct one among the list of fake definitions plus the correct one. Points are granted to those whose bluffs are chosen, and for those who get the right definition.
Ezumee Ichi - The word for the number one in Japanese is "ichi". This is a card game based off a popular card game where you have to say the Spanish word for one when you only have one card left after playing a card. You know the one -- there are colored numbers and you have to match either the color or number of the previous card in your play. You can Skip other players, Reverse the flow of card play, use a Wild card to change the color, or force the next player to draw 2 or 4 cards.
Ezumee Wordo - When it's your turn, the other players will try to explain a word, name of a person or phrase. Your job is to guess it within a short period of time. If you guess it, you get a point. If another player messes up and says the word (or one of the words in a phrase), they get docked a point and you get to try another word.
Wrong Question - You are asked a question, which you should answer honestly. Then the tables are turned and we ask a different question and show all the answers to the original question. Players vote on the funniest answer to the new question.
